7)   Growing up, what had a bigger influence over how you lived your life, the Cuban traditions or the American culture? I couldn’t tell because I know you were restricted to be you because of your family’s Cuban traditions, but I know you also enjoyed the American culture and music a lot.
8)   What caused Marimar to rip the magazine in front of you?
9)   Was she purposely trying to humiliate you?
10)   Did you ever stop living by your Cuban traditions, because it made you feel restricted?
11)   How did religion change for you as you grew up? From reading, I noticed you questioned whether you were doing was a sin or not? Did that change eventually?

Latina/o life is not considered valuable in this society. Yes, we are an important part of the community and economy, but we are mostly thought of as a human wallet because we contribute to a large amount of spending in the economy. Latinas/os don’t have the same opportunities as their white counterpart in this country, for example Miguel came to this country when he was eleven, he learned the language and became a brilliant student and followed all the rules, he was the envy of the school. The problem with Miguel was, he went to school that was overcrowded; Miguel’s neighborhood wasn’t the best either, there are many factors that can lead a person down the wrong path such as drugs, teen pregnancy, and juvenile violence. To make matters worse, Miguel worked thirty hours a week to help his mother and his siblings. The course was very informative, and I enjoyed learning about the struggles and upbringings of Latina/o people. It is important to know where you stand and you get to read stories of people going through the situations and how they are able to get ahead, it’s inspiring. Latina/o people are considered to be irrelevant or unimportant in this country, we let people take advantage of us or we are afraid to speak out against these injustices. Therefore, courses like this one are important because they give us a voice and by the end of it you feel a sense of empowerment and pride of where you come from. You get a feeling of belonging and your life is given meaning. For example, in the documentary ''Precious Knowledge'', the students were going through the same situation and they didn’t have an identity.
