If, you’re a minority, you know the struggle to find a well-paying job, owning property or getting an education. The truth is minorities have to work twice as hard or sometimes when three times as hard just to get by in this country. We are people with dreams and aspirations in one day achieving a better life for future generations to come. Women have it the worst because in this country women are considered to be inferior to men; a woman can work in the same position as a man, but still get paid less than the man. If you think that’s bad, minority women have even less privileges than white women, so what is left for minority to do when it comes to employment. Most of these women join a cleaning service, they work long hours and the pay is not any good. These women are taken advantage of and there is no one to speak up for them. At least, White women are able to find cleaner and less physical jobs such as desk work or assistant, it is a better job than scrubbing toilets daily.

In the article, “What Does LatinX Mean?” the author talks about intersectionality which is the overlapping of social categories such as race, class, gender that applies to a certain individual or group. According, to the term the more likely you are subjected to discrimination or are at a disadvantage in society. For example, if a male is Hispanic or African American, that individual will be discriminated against. Now, what if that individual is not heterosexual and is gay, this is another disadvantage in the workplace or in society.
